The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the harmonization with the acquis on statistics, particularly by improving the capacity at selected data providers other than TURKSTAT.

The specific objectives of the project are as follows:

-       Improving the qualifications of the staff of the MoLSS and its affiliated institutions working on IT and statistics to deliver the required statistics in line with EU standards and upgrade the technological infrastructure of MoLSS to establish statistical database,

-       Providing necessary consultancy, training and study visits for the MoLSS and its affiliated institutions to efficiently record, bring together and analyse statistical information from their administrative registers using standardized, internationally approved statistical gathering and analysis methodologies,

-       Providing necessary consultancy, training and study visits for the MoLSS and its affiliated institutions to communicate digitally with internal offices and regional offices in order to efficiently share information and also with other governmental bodies to allow them to easily share statistical information with the MoLSS,

-       Provision of the necessary consultancy and training for the MoLSS and its affiliated institutions staff for administration, design and development of the SMIS databases and applications and the MoLSS network infrastructure,

-       Provision of the necessary training of the MoLSS and affiliated institutions staff that will use the SMIS,
